I sketched many beautiful flowers whilst at The Garden House in Buckland Monachorum on the fringe of Dartmoor National Park.
The garden holds delights for both the seasoned gardener and for those exploring and immersing themselves in the tranquility of 10 acres of stunning gardens.
This is the first of three Dahlia studies "Tomo" is one of a vast variety of Dahlia's at The Garden House. I sat on a beautiful summers day sketching the immense structure of this flower.
I used a black ballpoint pen to produce this piece and layers of line work to enthasise the delicate petals but sturdy structure. It took me approximately a week to finish this artwork.
