A wide expanse of golden sand is exposed at low tide, bordered by rocky outcrops ideal for rock-pooling. Crooklets is at the north side of Bude and can be reached by a short walk over the Summerleaze Down or down the hill from the town centre.
Crooklets is very popular with surfers and is home to the Bude Surf Life Saving Club, but on this day in late October a horse rider was galloping across the beach.
It was a cloudy, surprisingly warm day with the sun peaking through the clouds with mist coming off the sea.
I produced some very quick sketches and took some photos to capture the weather and the water on the sand.
This artwork took me approximately 10 days to produce as it required lots of blotting to avoid the ballpoints from bleeding.
